Home Visiting 2, Agathian Home PJ

26th of October

We went to our second home called Agathian Home at PJ, we all departed from college at 1PM something and reached there at 2Pm something. The house looks kinda poor, and is a very small house, just a single storey terrace house, but inside accomodated 30+ children, and plus us who went to the home, is like so many ppls. We went there and sent all the food we bought, including dry groceries, wet food for deepavali, and presents for the children from Sook Theng and Zhao Wern. Thanks.

We had a drawing session with them too. All the kids there are so cute man, omg...so tak tahan lar...I wish i can go there more.

This post is not easy for me to post, I tried to upload the photos to PhotoBucket kept failing. then today morning i successfully uploaded all these photos. haha...

Buying Wet Food

25th October evening

Ching and Michelle went to Carrefour to buy the requested items for the home. The home asked us to buy mutton cube, fish, squid and chicken. We think maybe they need this for their celebation of Deepavali. We accountted RM500 all together to buy all these food and groceries. We came out all this money from our 2 days fund raising activity.

Then Michelle and Ching fetched all the wet food to my house here, and put inside my empty fridge.

Today, 26th October, we are going to the Agathian Home, we will send all these foods and play game with the children there. See our update later. Before that, now me, Jin and Victoria is going to buy 2 plastic table for the first home we had visited last week, Shelter 1 Home and we are going to find the road to the home, as Ching din lead us how to go there, she oni gave us a map, omg...SO POOR THING Jin...

Eternal Summer 2 practice & Present Packing

25th October

After I came back from Giant buying the dry groceries, then I went to ECA student lounge to direct and practice our drama, Eternal Summer 2.

Before practice, some of our mates are packing some present for the children in Agathian home. Sook Theng sponsored all the presents, they accounted more than RM100, but those stuffs are what her sister dun wan one.

After then, we started to practice our drama, Eternal Summer 2. It is somehow has some elements from last sem's Eternal Summer, the outline and songs are based on the Eternal Summer 1, then this sem we just changed the theme and the storyline to suit our event topic which is about kids. It involves incestous relationship, and it is also based on the famous play from William Shakespeare, Hamlet.

Me, Nikki and Ching came out with the storyline, and i just finished the whole scipt today. haha...

This drama will be showcased in our event Grand Finale on the coming Wednesday. 12-2PM at LT1, Taylors PJ.

We went to the biggest Giant, in Bukit Jalil, to buy dry groceries for Agathian home, our second visiting home. We are going to the home on 25th of October, Saturday. We will also buy wet food as requested by the home such as mutton, chicken and fish, to celebrate deepavali.

13th October

Early in the morning, all of us went to Nikki's house to pack the cookies. Piaget, Azima, Nikki, Jacinta, Angie, Zanne, Zhao Wern, and Victoria we there to help out.

We started selling in the college from 11AM which ended at 1PM, We manage to sell about 85% of the cookies and jellies. On top of that, we manage to get plenty of donation. ALL THOSE WHO HAVE DONATED.. THANKS SO MUCH!!!.

On top of that, We manage to take pictures of those that bought the stuff or donated money. We will be printing all the pictures as decoration on our event day itself, to show to the audiences that there are a lot of people that cares about children.

At 3PM, we continue selling all the cookies meant to be sold on Tuesday. Fortunately, we manage to finish it within 30 minutes. It was really a big success, we managed to sell the amount of 3 days fund raising items within 1 day !!!

Thanks so much to those that helped us out! The orphan will definitely have a better life!

There will be another fund raising event going on next week in the court yard. Please support us and help change the the orphans' lifestyle.

Piaget, was watching Wall E with the children. the movie was really enjoyable.

They were preparing the BBQ pit while Piaget was playing with the children inside.

We were accompanying children to eat.

Meliza was distrubuting small present for the children.

We will be walking around the campus. Feel free to stop us when ever you see us! We will be selling cookies and jellies. No regrets!!! It is delicious and of course reasonable price!!!

The English For College Studies 2 project titled “Them Kids!” is undertaken to create awareness amongst youths about the importance for caring for children. Our event is basically to let the target audience, which are college-going students on getting actively involved in lending a helping hand towards children who have been abandoned, abused and deprived of basic necessities.

The name of our event is “Them Kids!” Our tagline is “Love em’ not Leave em’” This tagline is chosen because we believe that for the audience to be more involved in such a project they need to question themselves, are they to love children or to leave them to stray. The theme of this event focuses on showing compassion and empathy towards children who are less fortunate. Thus, the title of this project “Them Kids!”
